![]() I'm sure it just takes practice to do as seamlessly as in more traditional workflows. I like and need to use various PIP shells in my events, and with Wirecast, I've found it's better to use one of the Master layers as audio-only, instead of worrying about whether I'm hearing a guest in one PIP shell only to have them go silent when I switch to another.Īs for rolling in canned content, I almost never do it, except for a pre- and post-show animated loop. Building them on the fly is very difficult, to say the least. You really need to think through your various shots before going live. No DDR or GFX bins, no M/Es (that I know of). Something else to consider if you don't know Wirecast, its UI is nothing like a traditional software switcher. If you're a one-man band, remember that just because you hear your guests in Rendezvous, that doesn't meant they're making it to the PGM output. Rendezvous is great for productions that are limited to 2-3 guest connections, but beyond that I don't recommend. Stability has improved drastically over the last few versions (13.1.3 is the current build and it seems solid). Because of COVID, I've had to rely heavily on Wirecast for switching/streaming several events per week, and recording 10-15 other videos. I mentioned this in another thread, but I'll put it here, too. I would definitely turn it off for any session, though. Maybe not a good idea for a machine attached to the internet. You can turn off updates in the registry, but that is forever. #Wirecast update updateIf is it in my video chain, it is not going to update during my show.įor some installed system, I don't know. If everything is working, I turn it off for every machine - PowerPoint, timer, ars, Vmix, whatever. On all Windows machines used in show, I go in to the settings before-hand and set them to turn off updates for 7 days. Vmix being PC-only makes it a less viable option for me, only because I had previously invested in souped up Mabook Pros. Both platforms seem to trash my applications when updating but at least I can say no to Catalina for a while. I use Wirecast on Mac simply because those are my more powerful laptops and Redezvous guests can share their screen for presentations. What’s new in Wirecast 14.3 Telestream has just released Wirecast 14.3 with some great new features. #Wirecast update for freeSo, if you want to download it, you can do so for free on the copmany’s support page.Unless you need to do screen share with a remote presenter.
